Excellence in Civil Engineering Education
The U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering hosted the American
Society of Civil Engineer’s (ASCE) Excellence in Civil Engineering Education
(ExCEEd) Teaching Workshop in June. ExCEEd brings together individuals from
across the United States to enhance teaching skills in new Civil Engineering
faculty members. The week-long program employs a “learn by doing” model which
allows participants to try new approaches and receive feedback from other team
members, as well as more experienced faculty who are past graduates of the
program. This is the fourth year in a row that FGCU and the WCE have served as
a host site for ExCEEd.
